The guilty pleas mark the end of a long case, where the man was initially faced with 44 criminal charges that included acts of theft, burglary and drug possession. As we reported in an earlier blog post, law enforcers were able to catch Keith King after an officer noticed him take piece of luggage from a carousel after he had just walked into the airport terminal from outside. A further investigation revealed that his home in Waddell was filled from floor to ceiling with luggage.
Keith King's wife, Stacy Legg King, was also involved in the luggage thefts from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Associated Press reports that the woman was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison last month after pleading guilty to charges of theft, trafficking in stolen property and a dangerous drug violation.
Some people may wonder how Keith King will be sentenced in this unusual burglary case. He probably won't be getting off too easy, since burglary, drug possession, theft, and trafficking of stolen property are all considered felony crimes in the state of Arizona.
